Fashion Awards British

At the British fashion award week today disaster struck. As model Karen Olsen walked on stage to present The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, she suddenly disappeared into the orchestra pit. It was a 4ft drop and the audience was left stunned. After a short delay, the wife of White Stripes frontman Jack White re-appeared back on the stage to great applause to present the award to creative director of American Vogue, the aforementioned Grace Coddington.

At the awards Kate Moss was given the London 25 Award, which recognises someone who embodies the spirit of London and is an international fashion ambassador. John Galliano also received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design, in recognition of his extraordinary career from Central Saint Martins graduate to creative director of the French house of Christian Dior. The Menswear Designer Award was given to Kim Jones, the creative director of Dunhill, while Katie Hillier was named Accessory Designer. Victoria Beckham was also amongst the stars, wearing her own women's clothing label spring summer 2010 batwing creation, with crystal embroidery and shoulder pads, or Kate Moss, wearing a flamenco-style chiffon number with a magnificent train by John Galliano?
